What is STAT? A Guide for Healthcare Professionals
STAT is a platform designed to help healthcare professionals share their expertise, connect with healthcare organisations and contribute to the future of healthcare.
For Australian healthcare professionals, STAT offers opportunities to take part in education, research, surveys, feedback and professional collaboration. It connects practitioners with verified organisations across the healthcare sector, giving practitioners more choice in how they share their knowledge and experience.
Who is STAT for?
STAT is open to AHPRA-registered healthcare practitioners in Australia. Whether you work in private practice, a hospital or another healthcare setting, you may be able to participate in opportunities that suit your professional interests and availability.
What does STAT do?
STAT connects healthcare professionals with organisations seeking practitioner insights, education and collaboration. Depending on the opportunity, activities may include responding to surveys, sharing professional feedback, attending meetings or contributing to research and consulting projects.
STAT also uses a model called STAT CoPay™, which directs value from platform activities towards practitioners and healthcare initiatives. The way value is allocated depends on the type of engagement, so it’s worth understanding the arrangements before taking part.
Why might healthcare professionals use STAT?
STAT provides another way to contribute your professional knowledge beyond your usual clinical or workplace responsibilities. You can explore opportunities, choose which organisations you want to engage with and decide what fits your interests and availability.
For practitioners, this may mean opportunities to learn, share insights, contribute to healthcare innovation and receive compensation for eligible paid engagements.
How do you get started?
You can learn more about STAT and begin the sign-up process through the STAT website. STAT’s website directs practitioners to download the app and follow the on-boarding steps.
We’ll cover the sign-up process and how to get started in more detail in our separate How to Use STAT guide.
STAT also has a tool called STAT Clara. We’ll introduce this separately in a dedicated guide, including what it does and how to get started with it.
